Many Asian stars have defied ageing to look decades younger than their actual age. However, one star shines above them all: Hong Kong star Ray Lui (呂良偉). The actor may be approaching 70, but he could easily pass for a 40-something.
In the past, the 68-year-old has attributed his youthful looks and energy to proper diet and exercise. However, he also mentioned consuming a mixture of fruits and vegetables that he calls “detox energy soup”. After briefly sharing what goes into the soup, Ray has finally disclosed the full recipe on his social media. Here’s what goes inside the concoction:

Ray Lui’s Detox Energy Soup
Ingredients:
- 60g celery
- 70g bittergourd
- 50g carrot
- 20g apple
- ¼ lemon
- Water
Steps:
- Wash and cut the fruits and vegetables into small pieces, and add them to the blender.
- Blend everything, adding enough water to help the process
- Blend until smooth or to your preferred consistency
- Serve it as is, or with ice, and enjoy

While Ray calls it a soup, the mixture is more like a juice, as no cooking is required. The star also claimed that the drink boosts metabolism, flushes out toxins and replenishes essential nutrients. He says he consumes his detox energy soup when he’s tired, adding that he feels invigorated the next day. He also said that it makes the perfect drink for those undergoing intermittent fasting.
