Many celebrities have routines that they follow to maintain their health and physique. For Mandopop icon Jolin Tsai (蔡依林), one of those routines is going to bed by 10pm. While some may tease her sleeping habits, the star has a good reason why she sleeps early.
On the latest episode of her podcast, the singer talked about her habit of going to bed by 10pm. Last month, in another episode of her podcast, Jolin revealed that she started going to bed early this year after returning from the United States because she was adjusting to jet lag. However, after a couple of nights of sleeping early, she noticed an improvement in her looks, which influenced her to keep the habit.

During the podcast, Jolin quipped that she never expected her sleep schedule to go viral, but found it endearing that many followed her lead. While she previously mentioned that she started sleeping early to maintain her looks, the singer noted that sleep is also important for her work. Jolin explained that sleep is the best way to replenish energy, which is why she can easily sleep in her dressing room. She also believes that enough rest is key to her performances.
Additionally, the 45-year-old said her sleep schedule is just one of the many things she does to maintain good health. Jolin revealed that she had a terrible eczema flare-up a few years ago, which she believes was caused by her weakened immune system at the time. Since she also previously had a habit of staying up late, the singer decided to make changes to her lifestyle and routine to take better care of her health.

Despite being in an industry where partying appears to be the norm, the star lamented that she can no longer handle the strain of partying, leading to the start of her healthier habits. Besides sleeping early, Jolin also said she enjoys brisk walking, even preferring it to running as her choice of cardio exercise. She said walking helps calm her breathing more easily than running and helps her “slow down from the highs of her phone”.
We applaud Jolin for having the discipline to maintain all these healthy habits. Perhaps she can influence more fans to join her in leading a healthier lifestyle. In the meantime, check out the clip from the podcast below:
