Many Hong Kong stars have made their way to Malaysia lately, some for work and others for leisure. Joining the growing list is veteran TVB actor Vincent Lam Wai (林伟), who is currently in town to work on an upcoming project.
The actor recently took to social media to share his trip, writing, “Started work in Kuala Lumpur. Work is going happily and smoothly. Looking forward to eating delicious food.” Vincent also shared a video to address fans from his filming set. In the video, believed to be taken at Rumah Tangsi at Taman Tasik Perdana, the actor revealed that he has been in Malaysia for a few days to film for a new movie.
However, the actor never mentioned what he was filming for. Nevertheless, Vincent seemed excited about working in Malaysia. In his video, he praised the clear Malaysian weather and talked about the local cuisine he wanted to try. He said, “I heard that Malaysian food is delicious. I like chicken rice, bak kut teh, grilled Portuguese fish, and Indian flatbreads the most. I hope to find delicious food and take pictures for everyone to see.”
Many Malaysian fans have since reacted to Vincent’s post, sharing welcome messages for the star. As the actor mentioned Malaysian food, some local fans shared food recommendations with the star. Others wished him luck filming and hoped to meet him in person. However, one lucky fan revealed they’d met the 63-year-old in person, spotting him at a local mall.
For those unfamiliar with Vincent, the veteran star has been active in the entertainment industry for over 30 years. He started as a model before transitioning into acting roles in television and film. He’s best known for his role in the 1992 film, “My Wife’s Lover (太太的情人)”, and is currently contracted to TVB. Vincent’s most recent television roles were for the TVB series, “Sinister Beings 2 (逆天奇案2)” and “No Room For Crime (反黑英雄)”.
While we’re unsure how long the actor will be in town, we hope Vincent has a pleasant stay in Malaysia. We hope to see more of his experiences and local food adventures soon.
