When the news first broke, it was reported that none of his fellow “Running Man” cast members or guest stars had been aware of his marriage plans. The latest episode of Running Man aired over the weekend, showing the cast members entering the set with looks of surprise on their faces. Guest stars Jang Dong-yoon and Kim Ah-young were also caught off guard, having only been told that someone was getting married. They eventually asked Jong-kook directly on camera whether he really was tying the knot.
The singer confirmed the news while the rest of the cast were still processing the announcement. Song Ji Hyo (송지효) initially tried to hold back her emotions, but could not help shedding tears of joy upon learning that her close friend and colleague was engaged. At the start of the episode, Yoo Jae Suk noticed the actress crying and asked if she was okay. She tearfully responded, “I’m really touched right now.”
