(Video) Security Guard Hits Audience Member In Mosh Pit During Rock Concert In Shah Alam?

The energy at a rock concert is unlike any other. Mosh pits are a regular occurrence at these shows. In fact, someone in a wheelchair once went viral for joining in on one. As fun as they can be, mosh pits are still dangerous if one does not exercise caution.

Still, who would’ve guessed that one of the dangers would stem from security guards? One guard on duty was recently reprimanded for hitting an audience member during a mosh pit at a local rock concert. Here’s what happened:

konsert jiwa kacau betul-betul kacau,
first time aku gi masuk mosh pit kena belasah dengan security hanat betul. @bunkfaceband @hujanband @KugiranMasdo #JiwaKacau pic.twitter.com/uyGL5DPcQD

In case you were unaware, the Jiwa Kacau concert was held over the weekend at Stadium Indoor Malawati Shah Alam with acts such as Bunkface, Hujan, Insomniacks, and Kugiran Masdo taking the stage to rock the night away. A mosh pit was formed at one point during the showcase and one netizen who goes by @amnxfq posted a video of the incident.

In the video posted on Twitter, the netizen claimed that one of the security guards at the concert hit him from behind while he was being held by 2 other guards to stop him and others from joining in on the mosh pit. The guard was immediately reprimanded by other members of the audience for being too aggressive. A massive argument then broke out between security and concertgoers as seen in the video.

The Twitter user posted a follow-up slow-motion video for others to witness how the guard in question got violent, and his approach was uncalled for. Netizens’ opinions were torn with some backing up security for doing their job that evening while others believe that the guards are at fault as they probably had no prior experience with handling mosh pits.

At the time of writing, there has been no official statement released by the concert organisers regarding the incident. They did, however, apologised for any inconvenience caused that evening in an IG post. The original poster of the videos also insisted that he didn’t do anything wrong as it was his first time joining a mosh pit.

What do you think? Was the security guard too aggressive or was his actions justified?
