We’ve heard countless stories of tourists visiting Malaysia and they’re always a hit or miss. Some of these stories have been very positive while others weren’t all that nice. Many are usually fascinated when they see something unique to them in the country that aren’t available back home.

When these foreigners criticise our services though, the criticisms can sometimes draw a lot of attention. For example, this travelling vlogger gained quite the traction after sharing his experience using the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Transit train.

Scottish YouTuber Dale Philip recently posted a video on his official Facebook page where he documented his experience using the KLIA Transit train from KL Sentral. The video started with the traveller comparing the ticket price for the rail service to that of Jakarta’s saying that it’s more expensive compared to the Indonesian airport trains.

The content creator then went on to complain that the ticket scanner wasn’t sensitive enough as it took him several tries for his ticket to be detected by the machine. He then assumed he missed the 10:40am train after being 2 minutes late even though he was informed that the next train would arrive at 11am. The Scottish man then lamented about the station not being air-conditioned.

When boarding the public transport, the foreign tourist described the seats as “basic” and “not leather-like”, again comparing them to the Jakarta airport trains. “The train in Jakarta had nice reclining leather seats,” he said. He also made some negative remarks about the free Wifi provided on the train. The vlog went viral now reaching over 460k views, 9k likes, and over 700 comments at the time of writing.

Netizens’ opinions were torn after watching the video. Some commented that Dale should not have compared Malaysia and Indonesia’s airport trains as the KLIA trains have been in service longer than the ones in Jakarta. Others said that taking the train is far more reliable than taking a bus or e-hailing service as traffic on the road these days are unpredictable.

A few agreed with his statements saying that the KLIA rail service can be improved. Some even pointed out that the former poker player may have boarded the wrong train as the KLIA Express train is a non-stop route to the airport. What do you think of his remarks? Watch the full video here:
