After a turbulent 2024, NJZ (엔제이지) – formerly known as NewJeans (뉴진스) – is ready to make a comeback! The group, made of members Danielle (다니엘), Minji (민지), Hanni (하니), Haerin (해린) and Hyein (혜인), recently dropped an intriguing concept video, sparking speculations for a new song release.
The quintet recently released the uncaptioned video via their Instagram account. The video appears to be a concept teaser for an upcoming release. NJZ previously announced plans to kickstart activities under their new name after months of inactivity. The group rebranded from NewJeans following their ongoing feud with former label ADOR. Alongside the rebrand announcement, they released new concept photos, debuting a bolder image.
The group hasn’t confirmed the comeback rumours yet, but they have assured fans that new music is coming soon. Previously, NJZ shared that they will debut never-before-heard songs at the ComplexCon Hong Kong music festival. The group will co-headline the event, which will happen from 21st to 23rd March at the AsiaWorld-Expo convention centre. NJZ will perform on the last day of the festival.
In addition to the teaser, the group expanded their digital presence by launching new social media accounts. NJZ now has official accounts on Twitter, YouTube and TikTok, cementing their brand online. The new channels offer fans and followers more opportunities to engage with the group and get the latest updates on NJZ, plus exclusive content. Previously, the group only had an official Instagram account, which was launched before their re-debut as NJZ.
