Can you believe it has been almost 20 years since “Hannah Montana” premiered on Disney Channel? The first episode aired in March 2006, catapulting Miley Cyrus to stardom. The show quickly became one of the channel’s most iconic series, on a par with “That’s So Raven”, starring Raven-Symoné.
Since leaving Disney, Miley has been involved in numerous, more mature projects in both music and film. Over the years, fans have often wondered whether she would take part in a Hannah Montana anniversary celebration, particularly with the 20th anniversary approaching. It has now been confirmed by Miley herself that such a celebration is currently in the works.
It seems Miley has more to celebrate than her rumoured engagement to boyfriend Maxx Morando. At the red carpet premiere of “Avatar: Fire and Ashes” at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, she was asked whether there are any plans to mark “Hannah Montana”’s 20th anniversary next year. She replied, “I’m definitely in the works. A lot of my time right now is being spent on how I can honour Hannah. It’s such a special celebration for us all.”
Sadly, the Disney alum did not provide many further details about the upcoming event. However, given that it was the series that launched her career in the entertainment industry and how much she cherishes the character, we are confident that she and her team will do it justice. One thing is for sure: fans have been nothing but excited since news broke out.
