We’ve seen some heroic deeds done by your everyday citizens. Previously, a Foodpanda rider helped detained some snatch thieves with his impressive knot-tying skills. Prior to that, a Grab rider literally risked his own safety by ramming his motorcycle to stop a couple of snatch thieves from getting away.
Preventing a crime takes a lot of courage as one might get harmed in the process but this driver did not hesitate to chase after a snatch thief on the road before ramming his car into the thief’s motorcycle.

Yesterday (Thursday, 11th May), Twitter user @jilmisai posted a video that showed a snatch thief on his knees crying when he was being apprehended by the authorities after he was caught stealing a woman’s handbag in the middle of a highway. The incident apparently took place in Penang.
According to the caption above, a Mercedes driver (the same man recording the video) chased after the thief and rammed his car into the criminal’s motorcycle to prevent him from escaping. “This is what you get for snatching! You’re only sorry you got caught,” he yelled at the mugger.
As seen in the video, the snatch thief was surrounded by other road users and witnesses who were presumably lending their assistance to detain him until the police arrived. The two women in the video were most likely the victims of the theft. After the post went viral, netizens praised the driver for sacrificing his car to prevent a criminal from escaping.
We’re glad no one was seriously injured during the incident. Let’s hope appropriate actions will be taken.
