(Video) Feeling Rich? Malaysian Influencer Shares Estimated Price Of TRX Skyscraper

The TRX tower is often the talk of the town, be it a negative or positive comment from Malaysians or foreigners. Numerous stories have surrounded the skyscraper since its opening, from prayer room complaints to a social media influencer expressing his dream of buying the building itself.

A video was posted on TikTok recently, which went viral with over 716.9 thousand views (at the time of writing) and caught the attention of numerous Malaysians. In a reply a follower’s comment, business and finance influencer Zarif Azrie revealed the estimated price of the Exchange 106 tower, better known as TRX Signature Tower.

The video seemed to be in reference to a recent viral interview with a business strategist, Andika Putera, who claimed that he wanted to buy the TRX skyscraper. Zarif known for posting videos calculating and sharing estimated budgets to either buy cars or open businesses, shared a detailed calculation on knowing the building’s price. The influencer first gave a background to the tower, revealing that it cost RM3.4 billion to build and is owned by Mulia Property Development Sdn. Bhd.

He proceeds to explain that if the estimated price increases by 8% per year, then the value in 2024 will be almost RM5 billion. “Assuming Andika decides to buy the building in another 10 years, 2034, the price would hike up to RM10.79 billion,” he explained. He calculated that Andika would have to pay taxes, lawyer fees, and other costs that involve acquiring a building would be about RM507 million, as the estimated price of the building in 2034 is set at RM10.8 billion. So, Andika’s net worth should be from RM40 to RM62 billion.

Netizens took to the comments to express their humorous responses to his video. Many jokingly questioned if they could pay it with Shopee’s SPayLater and joked that Andika could afford buildings and hotels in the board game Monopoly. Other local netizens mocked Andika, wondering how he was going to buy the building despite it being a known fact that he used to borrow money from his ex-wife to pay for their home’s utility bills. 

Zarif concluded his video by stating that it isn’t wrong to dream big and that many successful individuals around the world achieve their goals by having big dreams in life. What do you think of his dream? Is it too vague, or is the dream an achievable goal?
