They say you’ll never forget your first love, but not many of us would be willing to attend our first love’s wedding. However, that’s what local star Phei Yong (培永) did – and here’s his experience:
The media personality recently shared a video on his Instagram account captioned, “Goodbye, first love”. In the video, Phei Yong detailed his trip to Singapore to attend his first love’s wedding ceremony. The star once revealed that his first love was his classmate when he was 13. The video included clips of the ceremony and the reception. The bride and the groom appear in the video, but their faces are not shown to the camera.
According to Phei Yong, he decided to attend the wedding to create a memory of the event. However, he admitted in the video that he didn’t dare to sit too close to the couple at the altar but said he could still see the bride’s bright smile through the veil. He also said he felt calmer than expected during the ceremony, adding that he only had well wishes and blessings for the newlyweds.
Towards the end of the clip, we can also see Phei Yong meeting with the bride and sharing a hug. The video concludes with the public figure leaving a message for his first love, saying, “Thank you for this special invitation to witness your love.” He also extended his blessing, wishing the couple a lifetime of happiness. The video quickly gained traction and has since received over two million views.
Many netizens have reacted to the video, commending Phei Yong for his maturity. However, some of his celebrity friends also commented on the video, poking fun at the influencer. Since Phei Yong never specified his first love, influencer K-Lao (K佬) and MY FM DJ Aki Chan (大头Aki) jokingly asked whether his first love was the bride or the groom, prompting laughs from netizens.
It might have been conflicting for Phei Yong to attend his first love’s wedding, but kudos to him for still taking the time to celebrate the couple’s big day. Maybe one day we’ll hear about his wedding.
