Imagine going about your day at work when suddenly, a famous person just casually walks into your establishment to try your services for themselves. Remember when Dato Siti Nurhaliza went to visit a Malaysian restaurant while she was on her holiday with her family in the UK? We can only imagine the owner’s reaction when that happened.
It’s not everyday you’d see someone of importance walking into your establishment, especially if you’re just a small business owner. This local seller recently shared how surprised she was when a customer who ordered an abundance of skirts from her shop turned out to be Tun Dr Siti Hasmah.

Hany Masniera Mazalan, owner of the Shop Hany clothing brand, recently shared on her TikTok of one of her most recent customers who gave her a positive review for her products and services. In the video post, we can see a photo of Siti Hasmah, wife of Tun Mahathir, the former Prime Minister of Malaysia as well as screenshots of conversations between Hany and Siti’s personal assistant.
From the screenshots, the business owner received a message from a customer who wanted to pass on her boss’s review and thank you message to her. She then received a photo of her customer’s boss posing in one of her pleated skirts. The 28-year-old entrepreneur couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw that the photo was of Siti Hasmah.
She thanked the customer and her boss for the kind messages and that if she had known who they were, she would’ve included more free gifts with their purchases. “She’s very a humble person, and even asked her staff to pass on her review to me. I wanted to cry 😭 Thank you so much my dear Tun for supporting small and local sellers like us,” she said in her video caption. Netizens were very happy for Hany and congratulated her in the comments section.
Speaking to mStar, Hany revealed that she was surprised when a customer placed an order of 10 pleated skirts on 6th September. “This was way before I found out that the order was from Tun Siti cause there were no special requests made so I had no clue the order came from a VVIP,” she said. The retired physician also wanted to thank her for the free gifts that came with the purchase.
Apparently, Siti Hasmah asked her assistant to purchase the pleated skirts online after not being able to find them in physical stores.
