Despite the many recent celebrity breakup news stories, love is still alive as several public figures have also announced their engagement and marriage. Local influencer Qiu Wen (秋雯) is one of those celebrities, having recently gotten engaged to her boyfriend of three years.
According to reports, Qiu Wen’s now-fiance Cyrus Cheok popped the question on 29th October 2024 (Tuesday). The couple’s family and friends were also at the event, sharing many photos and videos from the evening. As a fellow influencer and tech entrepreneur, Cyrus went all out with the event, preparing a stage, a floral backdrop, performances and pyrotechnics. However, the highlight of the ceremony was, of course, the proposal itself.
According to a video shared by one of the attendees, Qiu Wen was first escorted to the outdoor stage. As she stood in shock in front of the crowd, Cyrus appeared holding a bouquet while serenading her. He then knelt on one knee, pulled out the ring and popped the question. After Qiu Wen accepted the proposal, Cyrus put the ring on her finger, and the crowd erupted in cheers.
Many friends and fans have since congratulated the couple on their engagement, offering them their sincere blessings. Several female netizens also expressed envy at the grand ceremony. Interestingly, some netizens also brought up the influencer’s ex-boyfriend, local content creator Lim Shang Jin (林尚进). As Shang Jin also notably dated Gatita Yan, many poked fun at him, saying that both his exes were getting married.
It’s reported that Qiu Wen and Cyrus have been dating for over three years but only made the relationship public in 2023. The couple aren’t shy about showing affection for each other, often posting videos and photos from their dates and travels together.
