Being invited to attend any international fashion event anywhere in the world is already exciting as it is. Many celebrities have also taken the opportunity to meet old friends and make new ones at these shows. Some of our Malaysian public figures also had the chance to travel to Italy to attend several fashion show events.
Singer-songwriter Alvin Chong was one of our local stars who attended these fashion events and updated his fans about his trip on social media. Aside from the shows, he also met with Thai actor Nani Hirunkit, Brazilian actor André Lamoglia and Korean actor Nam Yoon-su. However, what caught him most by surprise was meeting some excited fans at one of the events.
Earlier this week, Alvin Chong posted a video on his TikTok channel showcasing his recent experience at the Prada Fall/Winter 2025 Men’s Fashion Show in Milan. The singer stood outside the venue when he heard some fans calling out to him, urging him to come closer. He made a camera hand gesture to the group to ensure they actually wanted to meet him, as he wasn’t certain anyone would recognise him in a foreign country.
As he made his way across the road, fans could be heard screaming at the top of their lungs as he approached them. The 33-year-old met a group of girls and made a heart-shaped hand gesture with one of them. The young woman screamed with excitement after having the opportunity to do the gesture with her favourite singer. Alvin was then seen signing a few autographs. “I did not expect this to happen in Italy,” the artist said in the video.
After posting the video, many expressed their excitement for Alvin Chong over his fan experience in Italy, saying that he is now on his way to becoming an international star. One netizen claimed that she and her friends were the ones he met at the event. A few jokingly suggested that the fans may have mistaken him for a Korean celebrity.
Whatever the case, it’s clear that Alvin had a wonderful time during his visit to Milan, Italy. Who knows, perhaps he will one day become known worldwide and would be recognised at every international event he attends.
