While there haven’t been any new updates on Taiwanese influencer Iris Hsieh’s (謝侑芯) murder case, all eyes are still on Malaysian singer Namewee (黃明志) and his alleged involvement. Recently, influencer Sprite Fang (方祺媛) made a claim about the pair that shocked netizens.
Earlier this week, the influencer participated in an interview with a Taiwanese media outlet, speaking about the controversy surrounding Iris and Namewee. To recap, the latter is currently a suspect in the former’s murder case after she was found dead in a hotel in Kuala Lumpur last October. The case is still under investigation, pending toxicology and post-mortem results.
In her interview, Sprite spoke about her friend’s sudden passing, expressing grief over the situation. The media personality also has ties to Namewee, having previously appeared in the music video of “Pa Pa Pa (啪啪啪)”. However, she noted that she feels unhappy with him after Iris’s passing and the following public criticism.
Sprite also mentioned having some information about Iris’s murder case, but didn’t expand on it. Instead, the 43-year-old claimed that Namewee and Iris were romantically involved before her untimely passing. She also alleged that the singer’s longtime girlfriend may have turned a blind eye to the infidelity.
Namewee and Iris’s relationship had previously been discussed, especially given how he was alone with her in her KL hotel room when she reportedly overdosed. Authorities investigating the case also mentioned the two having a “special relationship”, but denied that they were dating. It’s believed that Namewee and Iris were working together before her passing.
Regardless of Namewee and Iris’s past relationship, friends and family are hoping for a transparent investigation. Hopefully, the truth of Iris’s death will emerge soon.
