In a TikTok video posted earlier this week, property agent Azreen Ali highlighted a private island in Langkawi currently on the market for RM8 million. According to the captions, the island is called Pulau Jemuruk and is located in the Ayer Hangat area, Langkawi. If RM8 million sounds a little out of your budget, don’t worry, the price is reportedly negotiable. Though we can’t promise it won’t still leave a noticeable dent in your bank account.
According to The Halal Xplorer, this 1.7-hectare freehold Malay Reserve land is estimated to be around 500 million years old. As mentioned in the property agent’s video, it’s considered ideal for tourist development, private resorts, or water-based activities. Wondering how easy it is to get there? The island is just a 5 to 7-minute boat ride from the Kubang Badak Jetty, so accessibility shouldn’t be a problem.
The TikTok post has since gone viral, racking up nearly 400,000 views at the time of writing. Netizens were largely intrigued by the island and its price, with some asking for more details about Pulau Jemuruk, while others jokingly suggested buying it for RM1,000 to RM3,000, or even using a ‘pay later’ option. Even Mydin Malaysia expressed interest in buying the island.
