It appears that veteran Hong Kong actor Lee Lung Kei’s (李龙基) high-profile romance with his fiancée has come to an end. This news comes after allegations that the 39-year-old is actually married and has a teenage son.
In a recent interview, Lee Lung Kei confirmed that he and Chris Wong (Wang Qingxia/王青霞) have split after 14 years together. The pair’s romance has garnered significant media attention due to the 36-year difference between the two. The 75-year-old actor even stood by his partner’s side as she faced a 25-month prison sentence, until her release in July 2025.
The breakup news came after recent allegations that Chris is married and has a 16-year-old son. She was photographed dining with her husband and mother while spending the Winter Solstice with family. It’s believed that Chris had concealed her marital status from Lee Lung Kei to form a romantic relationship with him.
During the interview, Lee Lung Kei teared up as he confirmed the separation, saying, “I understand everything. I was the third person. I wish them happiness.” However, he emphasised that he was completely unaware of his now-ex-fiancée’s marriage. Therefore, he felt no need to apologise to Chris’s husband and son for the infidelity.
Lee Lung Kei also mentioned that the split happened recently, after the Winter Solstice. He said he and Chris gradually became distant after she returned to her family home in China after her release from prison. Despite the circumstances, the public figure said he will still keep in touch with Chris after their breakup.
The actor is known for his devotion to his ex-partner, even reportedly transferring his assets to her. Understandably, this breakup must be difficult for Lee Lung Kei. Nevertheless, we wish him all the best for the future. Watch his interview here:
