Whether you are studying abroad or have migrated to another country, the feeling of homesickness never truly goes away. Some people fly home to spend the holidays with their families, while others arrange for their loved ones to visit them.
Unfortunately for Malaysian-born entrepreneur Nur Sajat, a warrant is still out for her arrest, meaning she cannot return home even if she wished to. Recently, she felt particularly lonely after being admitted to a hospital in Australia with no one to care for her. Here’s what happened:

Earlier this week, Nur Sajat found herself in the emergency department of an undisclosed hospital in Australia. She did not specify what led to her admission, but she expressed how incredibly lonely she felt during her recovery, as her family were not there to support or comfort her. “It is only when you are sick like this that you truly feel how far away you are from family. No hand to hold, no familiar voice to calm you down. It is just you and the sound of these machines,” she said.
The public figure clarified that she was not sharing her predicament to gain sympathy, but to show that there are moments she must face alone — and how frightening it can feel knowing there are people wishing for her downfall. “I pray that nothing bad will happen. Sometimes it feels as though everyone is against you rather than wishing you well,” she added.

Shortly after she posted about her situation, many of her followers and celebrity friends in Malaysia prayed for her recovery and offered words of comfort, assuring her that she would get through the hardship. In a video posted yesterday (Tuesday, 9th December), Sajat updated fans that she had made a full recovery and expressed her gratitude for their prayers.
“Thank you to all of you. My fans, my friends, my family, my kids, my colleagues, my roommate and my supporters… from Singapore, Australia, Indonesia, Brunei, and every corner of the world. Thank you so much 🙏🏼. Sometimes I sit and wonder… how did I survive? How did I make it home? And then I remember your prayers. Only your prayers carried me through. Life has its ups and downs… but this fall, this pain, this moment taught me how loved I am,” she captioned her post.
