While it may be annoying at times to be interrupted by monkeys randomly, it’s never a boring moment whenever you bump into them. They tend to amuse us with the comical things they do. Similar to an incident involving this little creature that caused unexpected road accidents.

Recently, a video went viral on TikTok, with 4.3 million views (at the time of writing) showing a monkey’s actions that left viewers in stitches. Originally posted by a zookeeper @/monkeyxiaobao999, the video showed the animal sprinting off in a seemingly unusual manner. Watch:

“How fast can a monkey run?” the uploader captioned the video. At the beginning of the 1-minute clip, a handicapped monkey was seen walking normally towards the camera on its two legs. Suddenly halting in its tracks, the monkey then turned in the opposite direction and began sprinting as quickly as it could, still on its two legs, like a human.

The furry critter even climbed a flight of steps on a wooded path at an astonishing pace. Both local and international internet users found the animal amusing, posting numerous humorous comments on various social media platforms. Due to its incredible speed, several users jokingly named the monkey after the DC character The Flash and the famous athlete Usain Bolt.

In jest, some even claimed that the monkeys were evolving and that this was just the beginning, referencing films like “The Chronicles of Narnia” and “Planet of the Apes”, as the monkey appeared to be defying the laws of nature by running without the assistance of its hands. Numerous other internet users also expressed their amazement at the monkey’s speed in their comments, with some even speculating that it might be someone’s child.

What’s your opinion on the monkey’s ability? Watch the full video here:
