A few months ago, Grammy-winning Icelandic singer-songwriter Laufey announced that she’ll be bringing her “Bewitched: The Goddess Tour” to Malaysia. The day of the concert has finally arrived – happening later tonight (27th August) – and fans have been looking forward to seeing the multi-instrumentalist perform on stage at the Plenary Hall, KL Convention Centre.
The singer updated on Instagram Story yesterday that she has arrived at our shores by showing a photo of her flight landing at the airport. A few fans recognised her and her identical twin sister Júnía at the arrival gate and posted the video on TikTok. While she had some free time yesterday, the artist took the opportunity to explore our beloved city.
On the same day of her arrival, Laufey posted an Instagram Story that she and her twin were hanging out at Suria KLCC. The post showed the sisters posing outside the shopping centre with the view of the Petronas Twin Towers seen in the background. “Twin Girls, Twin Towers,” she appropriately captioned the IG Story.
Apparently, they also took the opportunity to film a TikTok video while they were there. In the TikTok post uploaded on the singer’s channel, she “declared” that she and Júnía have started their twin pilgrimage as they admire the magnificent view of the iconic Twin Towers from below. Shortly after updating her social media accounts, fans were surprised to learn that the songstress and her sister were at KLCC.
Some took to Twitter to express their excitement for the show tonight while many lamented that they missed the opportunity to catch a glimpse of Laufey while she was at the shopping centre. A few were hoping that Kasih Irish Leona would meet the twin sisters since she bears some resemblance to the Icelandic singer.
It’s always exciting to see your favourite artist roaming around in public a day or after their concerts. Previously, several K-pop groups and soloists like TREASURE, Lay Zhang and Jackson Wang were spotted spending their free time around KL, much to their fans’ delight. Who knows, perhaps we’ll see Taemin exploring our city when he comes to Malaysia next weekend.
