While they haven’t been active as a group in a while, Girls’ Generation (소녀시대), a.k.a SNSD, are still making waves with their every move. Fresh off their 18th anniversary, the K-pop icons are now hinting at a possible comeback and a reunion tour.
The group recently reunited to celebrate member Tiffany Young’s (티파니 영) birthday and their 18th anniversary, which falls on 1st and 5th August. Each member also took to their Instagram pages to share pictures and videos from the celebration. Adding to fans’ excitement, member Yuri (유리) also shared a vlog from the gathering. However, what piqued interest was one part of the vlog where the members seemingly discuss their comeback plans.

In that particular moment in the vlog, the girl group discussed plans for their 20th anniversary, which may include a group comeback. Understandably, the audio was muted to maintain confidentiality, but Yuri did provide subtitles to explain the situation. She wrote, “And suddenly a meeting about the 20th anniversary project began. SONEs are curious what our meeting was about, aren’t you?”
The singer also said that the group have been actively discussing their 20th anniversary plans. As it’s a significant milestone for the idols, Girls’ Generation hopes to present more exciting projects for their fans. While only snippets of the conversation were revealed, fans were able to deduce that the members are planning a possible tour. Some fans also pointed out that Tiffany had mentioned visiting 10 different cities during the discussion.

The anniversary plans remain unconfirmed, but fans have already expressed excitement over the possibility of a new Girls’ Generation tour. Many also quipped that they’ll begin saving up to attend the shows. For your information, the group’s last tour concluded in 2016. While the members did hold a group performance in 2022 to celebrate their 15th anniversary, they’ve never held multiple shows since going on hiatus from group activities.
Like many fans, we also hope that the tour plans will come to fruition. Perhaps the group could consider bringing the tour to Malaysia too, since member Hyoyeon (효연) is quite familiar with the local scene. While we wait for some good news, check out Yuri’s vlog below:
