In recent years, many second-generation K-pop idols have revealed their marriage plans, with some even starting families. As one of the biggest stars in the industry, many wonder whether G-Dragon (지드래곤) would join these stars in becoming a husband and a father.
The 37-year-old recently appeared on the MBC talk show, “Sohn Suk-hee’s Questions 3”, to discuss various topics with host and journalist, Sohn Suk-hee (손석희). During the interview, the host playfully asked the star when he plans to get married. In response, G-Dragon said, “I’ll get married when the time comes,” adding that he’s very curious to see what married life is like because it’s a world he has never experienced before.
The rapper then brought up Taeyang’s marriage to actress Min Hyorin and their toddler son. He said, “When I visit, I introduce myself to their son as ‘dad’s friend’. It feels so fascinating.” G-dragon then said that he could see himself becoming a father someday, adding that he’s both excited and anxious. While the star admits that he doesn’t have a partner yet, he quips, “I am someone who will get married. If I say this, then someone will eventually come to me, right?”
In the same interview, G-Dragon also opened up about the false drug charges filed against him. In October 2023, the BIGBANG leader was accused of using drugs, with the case later dismissed in December 2023 due to negative drug tests and insufficient evidence. However, the allegations still affected the singer, who said, “Even though I was the one involved, I had no place to express my feelings since I was on hiatus.”
The star continued, “I didn’t want to cry out that I was innocent, but it was frustrating and disheartening. I didn’t want to hold a press conference either. It just felt meaningless. I even wondered if I should retire, but there wasn’t a reason to. I kept asking myself if it was really over or if I barely made it through.” G-Dragon then said that writing music was how he channelled his thoughts. He also mentioned establishing the JusPeace Foundation to combat drug abuse.
