After his recent concert in Malaysia, EXO (엑소) member Chen (첸) took the opportunity to explore Kuala Lumpur before his destination! He turned his little adventure into a short vlog, posted on his YouTube channel, giving us a brief glimpse into his life.
The idol made the most of his short stay in the city, even though he only had time to stroll around the nearby areas. From having chilli crab for lunch to enjoying frozen yoghurt after a day of walking, here are some of the places the idol visited during his stay in KL:
1. Hakka Restaurant

Chen began his day by walking to Hakka Restaurant, which was close to the hotel he was staying, to enjoy some traditional Hakka dishes. In his vlog, he mentioned several times how much he wanted to try authentic chilli crab while in Malaysia, but the crabs weren’t ready when he arrived. Although slightly disappointed, the singer took the opportunity to try other dishes, such as fried rice and butter prawns, which he thoroughly enjoyed.
He continued his culinary adventure, having braised pork on flower rolls and spring rolls when the waiter announced that the crabs had finally arrived and were ready to be cooked! At last, Chen was able to satisfy his craving for chilli crab in Malaysia.
2. KLCC Park

After a fulfilling meal, the singer took a walk around the KLCC park to properly digest his lunch. “There is where I’ll see Kuala Lumpur’s landmark; the Twin Towers,” the star explained in his video. After a short car ride, he arrived at the park, where he took in the green surrounding scenery. He explained that the landscape would look better at night since that’s when all the lights are on, but he sadly couldn’t stay till late. The 32-year-old also bumped into some fans while on his walk, greeting and thanking them warmly.
3. Suria KLCC

Since it started to rain, Chen made his way into the nearby Suria KLCC shopping mall. As soon as he entered, he realised how big the mall was. “This feels more like a personal trip,” he added while walking around and found llaollao, Malaysians’ favourite frozen yoghurt shop! Intrigued, he stepped inside and ordered a small cup for himself. The idol was determined to have honey quinoa granola on his treat but didn’t know which sauce to pair it with, so the staff gave him the best-selling condiment, pistachio! Although Chen wasn’t a big froyo fan, he fully approved of his llaollao order!
4. Bape Café

Finally, to end his little adventure, the singer stopped by Bape Café in Suria KLCC to have some coffee and cake. While Chen was enjoying his long black, the café suddenly played “Growl,” which he reacted to by simply laughing it off. He then talked about his current watch, “Hellbound 2,” which he explained excitedly. The idol also spoke about his recent fancon: “I felt like we’re resembling each other; the way we think is so similar. I’m surprised at how well you all know me!”
He ended his vlog by saying how much fun he had in Malaysia and how he enjoyed the relaxing time he had! We hope to see Chen and the rest of EXO again soon. Did you get the chance to meet him?
