K-pop idols often date in secrecy, either to avoid being caught by fans and the paparazzi or to circumvent their agencies’ no-dating rules. In a recent interview, BLACKPINK (블랙핑크) member Rosé (로제) shared just how far she went to avoid getting caught dating.
The “APT.” singer recently appeared on a special episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, where she talked to host Alex Cooper about her love life, career and other funny anecdotes. During the show, Alex asked Rosé about her dating experiences, particularly how she would avoid getting caught on camera by paparazzi.
Amusingly, Rosé’s preferred method to protect herself from getting caught is using disguises. The idol revealed that she had ordered wigs online, including a short black curly one, to wear while going out to meet her ex-boyfriend. She then said she would study the mannerisms and fashion of older women so she could mimic them to avoid being photographed.
The 29-year-old explained that she resorted to using disguises because she was so paranoid about being caught dating. Rosé said that she would wear the wig and the clothes to visit her boyfriend at his house, noting that they never went out on dates in public, likely because of privacy concerns.

Rosé then quipped that she once had a section in her closet just for her old lady disguises, adding that there were various types of skirts so she could have different outfits. However, the star noted that she has since gotten rid of her “grandma clothes”. According to Rosé, she would dress as an old lady for dates for around six months.
