Malaysians don’t often see the benefits and advantages available in this country until someone from a foreign country points them out. Recently, a foreigner based in Malaysia pointed out something about the Muslim practise in Malaysia.
According to content creator Ekaterina, also known by her TikTok account @/gomalaysia, our country has easy access to Islam since the majority consists of Muslims. In her video, she shared that Malaysia is the best place for foreigners to learn about Islam because there are often religious talks featuring well-known Muslim preachers here.

In her video, she mentioned the US-based preacher Omar Suleiman was recently in Shah Alam for a talk. The preacher was listed in CNN’s “Top 25 Muslims American Change-Makers” and is a Ph.D. graduate from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). Ekaterina said that many well-known Muslim preachers often come to Malaysia to give talks and have shared their fondness for the country, including Dr. Haifaa Younis and Yasmin Mogahed.
Toward the end of her video, the content creator added a snippet of a speech by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim about the democratic status of Malaysia’s open society. Ekaterina claimed that this is why Malaysia is the perfect place for the world to learn more about Islam.
Many Muslims shared their views through the comments, and most agreed with the TikToker. They also said that Malaysia is welcoming to those who want to learn more about Islam, even those who are non-Muslims. However, there were also a few sceptics in the comments, saying that Malaysia also houses many extremists who make it difficult for people to appreciate and learn more about the religion.
