Many have risen to fame because of their involvement in the creative arts like acting, singing or dancing while others have gained traction due to their viral content on social media. That was the case for Foodpanda rider Syahmi, who is known for posting videos of him being silly while using the Dato Sri Siti Nurhaliza face filter.
While many see his content as harmless fun, others thought he was using the face of Malaysia’s no.1 singer for clout. Here’s what he had to say about those claims:
For context, content creator and Foodpanda rider Syahmi made a name for himself after posting multiple videos of him with the Siti Nurhaliza face filter on TikTok. The videos mostly consist of him doing skits with the filter on while he’s on break in between deliveries. His popularity even caught the attention of Siti Nurhaliza herself.
During her concert earlier this month, the singer asked if Syahmi was among the audience that evening. Fans seemed to recognise him as they all pointed in the same direction to help the star locate the influencer. During the interaction, the rider apologised to the songstress for using her face filter. The mother-of-two replied that there was no harm done and made it clear that she actually enjoys his content. Since then, the TikToker’s popularity skyrocketed thanks to the legend herself.

However, some people suspected that he was using the Malaysian icon for clout. Speaking to mStar over the weekend, Syahmi denied those allegations by clarifying that he only does the videos to entertain himself at work. “I started using the filter cause it was trending at the time and my face was not in great condition to do my regular content. I didn’t expect for it to blow up and since then people have asked me to post more,” he said.
The rider also recalled his interaction with Siti saying that he was nervous that he’d be called out but luckily the megastar was very sweet about it. As for the negative comments he received, Syahmi revealed that he pays no attention to them and currently has no intention of leaving his current job as a Foodpanda rider for the entertainment industry anytime soon.
