Stage malfunctions during concerts are nothing new, as they do happen from time to time. However, these technical issues can pose serious risks to performers on stage, potentially leading to severe injuries. Thankfully, this BLACKPINK (블랙핑크) member reacted quickly when the stage door suddenly began to descend. Fans, of course, were far from satisfied, questioning how such an incident could have happened in the first place. Here’s the story:
BLACKPINK is currently on their DEADLINE World Tour and recently performed in Los Angeles. While Jennie was delivering her part in “SHUTDOWN”, the rest of the members took their positions. However, as Lisa and the dancers were getting into place, the stage door suddenly began to descend.
Both the rapper and the dancers quickly moved back up to the main stage and resumed the show without further incident. The stage door then ascended back into place before the rest of the members made their way forward to deliver their parts. This moment during the concert was caught on video and instantly went viral on social media, with fans criticising YG Entertainment for the stage malfunction.
Many labelled the agency and the stage operator as incompetent, describing the incident as extremely dangerous, noting that Lisa and the dancers could have been seriously injured had they not reacted quickly. Others went so far as to accuse the company of deliberately causing the stage door to descend, suggesting it was an act of sabotage targeted specifically at Lisa.
Thankfully, the rest of the concert went off without a hitch. However, the incident still left many fans concerned for BLACKPINK, with some expressing that the tour felt rushed and that YG’s team appeared unprepared.
