It has been some time since beloved Hong Kong actor Benz Hui (許紹雄) passed away. Before his death, the star worked on various projects, including a new TVB drama. Recently, the late actor’s social media promoted the series with a new update, drawing attention from fans.
Earlier this week, Benz’s Douyin account shared a new post to promote the late star’s upcoming TVB drama “Themis (正義女神)”. The legal drama follows a story of a High Court judge who becomes a judge for the Hong Kong Juvenile Court. The series, which will air later this month on TVB, also stars Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼), Patrick Tam (譚耀文) and Alice Chan (陳煒).

The drama is also airing in China via Youku. To promote the new series and Benz’s appearance, his daughter Charmaine Hui shared a video of the late actor introducing his character on his Douyin account. In the captions, she explained that she will use her late father’s account for the time being to interact with fans and promote his works.
Given that this is a rare update from the actor’s social media, especially after his passing last October, it’s understandable that many were surprised. However, many fans got emotional after hearing his voice. Some even said they missed receiving updates from his social media pages, saying it’s like seeing an old friend again.

Many fans also said they’re looking forward to watching “Themis”, noting that it’s Benz’s final work before his passing. Some also hope that Charmaine will share more behind-the-scenes videos of her father. In anticipation of the drama’s release in HK, TVB has also shared several promotional clips featuring Benz on their social media.
It’s clear fans are still mourning Benz’s passing. However, all that emotional reaction towards his works is just a testament to how loved and respected he was.
