There are only a few hours left until the Kota Kinabalu Countdown 2025 festival, taking place tonight (31st December) at the city’s iconic waterfront. The grand event will feature a lineup of artists from Malaysia, Indonesia, China, and Korea, with EXO leader Suho (수호) headlining. Since the idol was announced to be performing in Malaysia, fans have been making plans to welcome him as soon as he arrives in the country.
Normally, we would see a huge crowd of fans at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) eagerly awaiting the arrival of their favourite singers, screaming at the top of their lungs as soon as they catch sight of them. In some cases, it can get quite rowdy. Was that the case when Suho arrived in Sabah? Let’s find out:
Malaysian fans have been posting photos and videos of Suho’s arrival at Kota Kinabalu International Airport since 2am last night. As seen in some of the posts, many fans gathered at the airport, with some forming two lines at the exit to greet the EXO member as he made his way to his vehicle. Unlike the scenes at KLIA, the crowd in Sabah was not as fanatical.
Most fans, although excited, gave the singer space as he walked past them, with some carefully approaching to hand over their gifts, which he accepted. At the exit, the scene was similar. Fans happily greeted Suho as he was escorted to the car, and he even accepted a few gifts from those who respectfully handed them over.
Netizens praised Sabah fans for being respectful and considerate towards Suho, especially after a long flight from South Korea. Others expressed envy seeing how close the fans were to the idol. A few were curious as to how fans knew of Suho’s flight arrival.
Regardless, it’s evident that Suho has gotten a taste of Sabahan’s hospitality. We’re glad that he and his team have safely arrived in the state and hope everyone has a fantastic time at the Kota Kinabalu Countdown 2025 tonight!
