It has been more than two months since young South Korean actress Kim Saeron (김새론) passed away, yet her death remains a tragedy, and a scandal continues to surround it. The controversy was brought to light by her aunt, who claimed that her ex-boyfriend, Kim Soo-hyun (김수현), played a part in the actress’s tragic passing. Her aunt also mentioned YouTuber Lee Jinho (이진호), believing he is responsible for spreading false allegations about Kim Saeron to the public.
The same Youtuber is now making headlines after releasing another video regarding Kim Saeron. On 22nd April 2025 (Tuesday), he uploaded a YouTube video titled “Shocking Exclusive! Kim Sae Ron’s Last Voice Recording… Was It Really Kim Soo Hyun’s Fault?” to his channel, Entertainment President Lee Jin Ho, shedding new light on the late actress’s final months.
Lee Jinho went on to say, “From the age of two, she worked tirelessly in the entertainment industry. However, following her DUI incident, her life began to spiral out of control, and within a year, she was forced to take on part-time jobs.” He later claimed that the late actress struggled with the immense pressure of being the family’s main breadwinner, eventually marrying a man in the United States despite her family’s disapproval. “But Kim Sae Ron longed to escape the harsh realities of her life in Korea and dreamed of starting anew in the U.S.,” he added.
As part of the video, Lee Jinho released a phone call recording of Kim Saeron with a close friend and she said “Nothing happened, really. But my boyfriend showed me YouTube videos of shamans doing readings on me. They all said I’m evil, that I should already be dead, and that my time has stopped.” She then continues, “They keep saying I’m a withered flower that can’t bloom again, that I’m selfish and terrible…”
It was later revealed that Kim Saeron had been undergoing psychiatric treatment and had made multiple attempts at self-harm, having been rushed to the emergency room on more than twenty occasions. The YouTuber also alleged that the actress had experienced severe conflict with her ex husband, which reportedly led her to reach out to her ex-boyfriend, Kim Soo-hyun, for emotional support.
The video sparked swift backlash from netizens, many of whom condemned Lee Jinho’s actions as deeply disrespectful towards the late actress. Numerous others labelled him a bully and called for legal action to be taken against him, arguing that spreading such sensitive information is both unethical and harmful. What do you think?
