Just like Mother’s Day, Father’s Day is also a special day where many celebrate and show appreciation for their dads. Sadly, there are those who never had a father figure in their life growing up but that doesn’t mean that they can’t celebrate the joyful occasion with the person who raised them up.
A couple of days ago, celebrity entrepreneur Dato Seri Vida and her daughter Cik B posted a video on their Instagram and TikTok pages respectively where the latter surprised the former with a cake that had “Happy Father’s Day To Mama” written on it.
Confused, the business owner asked the influencer why she wished her mother a “Happy Father’s Day” to which Cik B replied, “Cause I don’t have a father. What else was I supposed to write? ‘Happy Father’s Day to my absent father?'”. DS Vida was taken aback upon hearing those words.
Seeing how the entrepreneur was still puzzled by the gesture, the 19-year-old explained how much she means to her saying, “You are my mother, father, sister and best friend. You’re my everything”. She then leaned in to kiss her mother on the cheek. Netizens were mostly amused by the video and thought that it was sweet for Cik B to celebrate “Father’s Day” with her mother.
As seen in the comments below, those on Instagram could relate to the content creator’s situation while those on TikTok were genuinely curious as to why her father has never been present in her life. There were also a few who did not seem to appreciate the heartwarming gesture saying that Cik B should still acknowledge her father despite him being absent.
In case you are curious about Cik B’s father, his name is Mohd Amin Yasin. After he and DS Vida divorced in 2008, he revealed that he did not want custody over his children but requested at least visitation rights. In an interview with Harian Metro in 2020, he claimed that he was denied seeing his children and that both of them would not answer his calls whenever he tried to contact them.
We can assume that Cik B and her brother Kacak’s relationship with their father is complicated so it’s no wonder why he is hardly ever mentioned in their content. Whatever the case, it’s good to know that the two children have a very loving relationship with their mother.
