Food delivery riders have it rough sometimes, but they keep working despite hardships like inconsiderate customers or sudden suspensions. Recently, a food delivery rider exposed another problem riders face – customers who cheat the system.

TikTok user Amirol recently took to social media to expose a female customer’s devious trick to get free food and, in the video, confronted her about her trick. According to the post, the customer would order a meal from a restaurant as usual. However, once the order gets dropped off at the set location, the customer will cancel their order but still collect the food, which at this point, is essentially free.

After being confronted, the customer tried to defend her actions. However, the rider argued back with verbal proof that she deliberately cancelled orders to get free food. He pointed out that despite cancelling, the customer still went down to the lobby to pick up the order, proving the cancellation was purposefully done to steal the food.

According to the video, the customer would cancel orders multiple times a day, even several times a week. Amirol shared that the customer is a resident of Skypod Residences, a high-end development located in Puchong, and has acted out this plan since last year.

Amirol also warned other riders to be wary of the trick and be more careful when delivering orders. The video has now reached over 300k views with many netizens criticising the customer for her actions and praising the rider for keeping cool when confronting her. There were also comments urging the rider to lodge a police report to avoid getting cheated again.

There is currently no update from the rider if he has filed a report against the customer. We don’t know how many “free” meals that customer has gotten since she started cheating the system – but we hope she won’t do it again.
