The day has arrived, ARMYs! After a nearly two-year wait, BTS (방탄소년단) members RM (알앰) and V (뷔) have completed their mandatory military service. The duo made their first public appearance this morning (10th June 2025, Tuesday).
RM, whose real name is Kim Namjoon (김남준), and V, whose real name is Kim Taehyung (김태형), greeted fans and the press at the Sports Park in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, at around 9am KST. The pair were welcomed with loud cheers and warm greetings from the crowd. According to reports, RM and V’s fellow BTS members were also at the press conference.

Of course, being part of the biggest boy band in the world meant the two had to make a grand return. RM especially tickled fans and the press when he stepped out of the car in his military uniform, playing the saxophone. Staff members also presented the two with large bouquets. After the BTS leader finished playing a song on the saxophone, the two idols stood in front of the crowd to give their salutes.
RM and V are the third and fourth members of BTS to complete their mandatory military service, following Jin (진) and J-Hope (제이홉). They both enlisted in December 2023, with RM serving in the military band and V enlisting in the Special Duty Team (SDT). Their groupmates Jimin (지민) and Jungkook (정국) will discharge tomorrow (11th June, Wednesday), while Suga (슈가) will complete his military service on 21st June (Saturday).

With the end of BTS’ military hiatus, fans are now looking forward to the group’s comeback. While there are no details on new music, the boy band has teased that they will return soon. Meanwhile, BTS will celebrate their 12th anniversary later this week (13th June, Friday). The BTS Festa offline event will take place on 13th and 14th June at the Korea International Exhibition Centre (KINTEX).
Welcome back, RM and V! We can’t wait to see what the stars have in store now that they’ve returned. In the meantime, watch the moment the two greeted fans for the first time since discharge:
