Fans were thrilled by the announcement that action star Tom Cruise would be making a special appearance on BTS’s Jin’s (방탄소년단 진) YouTube series, “Run Jin”. The singer recently revealed that it was the actor’s team who first contacted the show’s production team to propose a possible collaboration.
Tom’s appearance is, of course, part of the promotional campaign for the 62-year-old’s latest film, “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning“, which, by the way, had us at the edge of our seats. There was one moment during the episode that fans considered a highlight. Here’s what happened:
In the latest episode of Run Jin, not only did Jin interview Tom Cruise about the newest instalment of the “Mission: Impossible” franchise and learn more about the thrilling stunts he performed, but the idol also embarked on his own “Mission: Impossible”, or rather, “Mission: Jinpossible”, as cleverly named by the production team. For the mission, the singer had to navigate a maze and search for clues to disarm a bomb.
Although this particular moment didn’t make the final cut, it was later uploaded as a bonus feature on the channel’s Shorts playlist. After spending the day with Tom Cruise, the Hollywood star suggested that Jin surprise his mother with a video call. The “Don’t Say You Love Me” artist agreed and delighted his mother by telling her that Tom Cruise wanted to speak to her.
As seen in the video below, Jin’s mother was ecstatic to learn that her son was with Tom Cruise, who wanted to greet the BTS member’s family. The 32-year-old introduced the actor to his loved ones on the video call, all of whom expressed that they were big fans of his work. Before ending the call, Jin encouraged his family to watch “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” soon, a suggestion they happily promised to follow.
The moment quickly went viral, with fans flooding the comments section to share how wholesome they found it. Some said they hadn’t expected Tom Cruise himself to suggest the idea of Jin video calling his family, while others commented on how much they enjoyed the latest episode of “Run Jin” featuring the Hollywood star.
