BLACKPINK’s Rosé (로제) will soon be releasing her debut full-length album, “Rosie”. The singer has been promoting the self-titled project on social media, as well as appearing in interviews, where she has shared how much creative freedom she had over the album.
However, there’s one particular topic that fans have long been curious about, as the idol has mentioned on several occasions: her ex. In a recent interview, she got candid about her past relationship and how writing about it helped her move on.
As a K-pop idol, revealing that you’ve had a past relationship can be a risky move, especially after what happened to a certain boy band member. However, Rosé did not shy away from discussing her ex-partner, whom she chose not to name. During an interview with Apple Music, the songstress was asked whether she faced any challenges when writing her very personal song, “Toxic Till The End”.
“It was something that had been living with me for a few years. I personally don’t think I deserved it, but it was there. Like, I am actually shocked today that I can wake up and say, ‘I don’t talk about that anymore,’ because I am grateful that I got to make this album. I used to talk about it so much,” she answered.
The idol went on to explain that, surprisingly, she had no issue discussing her ex, as she had been very open about it in past conversations. “I don’t want to give this person credit, but I needed to get it off my chest,” she added. After the interview was posted, fans praised Rosé for being honest about her past, as most K-pop idols tend to keep their heartbreaks private or only express them through music.
As for the identity of the ex she’s referring to, many have speculated that it was another Korean celeb, with some pointing to Bae Suzy. This isn’t the first time Rosé has been rumoured to have dated a woman. There were previous speculations that she was in a relationship with model Haze Khadra, but it later turned out to be a harmless ship created by fans.
