K-pop’s social butterfly continues to show off her unexpected friendships! Recently, Jennie (제니) from BLACKPINK surprised fans by joining Billie Eilish at a Spotify event held in Seoul to celebrate Billie’s latest album, “HIT ME HARD AND SOFT.” Jennie took on the role of interviewer, conducting the entire English-language interview with Billie. Throughout the event, the atmosphere remained warm and friendly, resulting in a successful listening session that earned applause from the audience.
Fans of both artists enjoyed a memorable night as their interaction included friendly banter, with Billie even playfully “flirting” with Jennie, adding a touch of light-heartedness to the evening. Billie was asked to name her favourite anthem, whether it be a song or album. Seizing the opportunity, Jennie leaned in and whispered “BLACKPINK, maybe?” The two laughed and held hands as Billie went along with Jennie’s suggestion, playfully declaring, “Your upcoming solo album that you’re working on right now.” Jennie then responded with a coy “wink wink,” affirming once again that her solo project was indeed in progress.
Later, Jennie posed another question to Billie about why all the track titles in her latest album are written in capital letters. Billie responded with a playful explanation, saying, “I’m just shouting. I’m just yelling, just yelling it in your face, you know. I just wanted to scream all the titles. I don’t know, it just works.” She hinted that there might be deeper meanings behind the titles, “There’re some meanings but it’s up to you guys to figure out.”
Billie expressed gratitude to Jennie for taking time out of her busy schedule to conduct the interview, praising her by saying, “You were so perfect. I love you Jennie. Thank you for doing this.” Jennie, in her characteristic teasing manner, replied, “You’re definitely interviewing me when my album comes out. It is happening!”
