BLACKPINK’s Jennie has another exciting music project on the way! The K-pop star is lending her voice to Netflix’s upcoming animated film Steps with a brand-new song titled “Someone to Hold.”
The track marks Jennie’s first song for an animated movie and will be released alongside the film’s official soundtrack on 20th November 2026.

Jennie Makes Her Animated Film Soundtrack Debut
Jennie shared her excitement about joining the project in a statement released by Netflix, describing the experience of recording her first animated film song as something she really enjoyed.
The singer also expressed her love for the film’s characters and their personalities, adding that she hopes fans will enjoy both the movie and her new track.
According to the film’s directors, Alyce Tzue and John Ripa, “Someone to Hold” represents the bond between the story’s three main characters: Lilith, Cinderella and Margot.
Songwriter and producer Justin Tranter, who worked on the soundtrack’s four original songs, described Jennie’s track as a joyful dance-pop song inspired by vintage sounds.
Amanda Seyfried And Rose Gray Join The Soundtrack
Jennie isn’t the only artist bringing new music to Steps.
The soundtrack will also feature Amanda Seyfried, Rose Gray and EMEI, with an original score composed by Kris Bowers.
Rose Gray contributes “Meet Me on the Dance Floor,” while Amanda Seyfried performs “Smile and a Song”, a musical theatre-inspired number.
Meanwhile, EMEI’s song takes inspiration from Lilith’s feelings of being overlooked.
According to Tranter, dance music plays a major role throughout the soundtrack, bringing a fun and energetic sound to the animated adventure.
