There were many rumours surrounding BLACKPINK’s (블랙핑크) 10th anniversary celebration, sparking concern among fans. Thankfully, YG Entertainment has confirmed the one important detail that fans were most worried about: all members’ participation.
Earlier today (Friday, 7th August 2026), YG Entertainment released a statement confirming that all four BLACKPINK members will attend their upcoming 10th-anniversary event. Earlier this week, the company announced that the girl group will hold a special meet-and-greet event on 8th August 2026 (Saturday) to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their debut. However, in its initial statement, the agency noted that only selected BLACKPINK members would attend.
The initial statement led fans to speculate which members would be absent from the commemorative event. Many argued that Rosé (로제) would sit out the occasion after she was spotted in Los Angeles on the day YG Entertainment shared the announcement. However, Rosé’s agency, THEBLACKLABEL, has since clarified that the singer will attend the anniversary event, adding that “being present for this occasion has long been set as her top priority.”
While fans are cheering that all members have confirmed participation in the anniversary celebration, some are still expressing disappointment for the lack of plans for what would be a major milestone for the group. According to reports, the meet-and-greet will take place in Seoul and feature only 40 fans. Many lamented that the number is a very low figure given the group’s global popularity.
Aside from the meet-and-greet, the quartet will release a set of merchandise under MU:DS, the official merchandise brand for Korea’s national museums. The collection, named the BLACKPINK HERITAGE COLLECTION, comprises seven items and will be available for pre-order on Saturday. While fans would typically celebrate the new drop, some argued that it’s still not enough initiatives to celebrate the occasion.
Fans brought up examples of how other K-Pop groups celebrated their anniversaries. For example, SEVENTEEN celebrated their 10th anniversary in 2025 with various online and offline activities, including a free concert at Jamsu Bridge. I.O.I, the project group formed by “Produce 101”, recently celebrated their 10th anniversary by releasing a new album. The members notably pushed for the release to fulfil the promise they made to fans before their disbandment.
Given how other K-Pop groups celebrate similar milestones, it’s no surprise that BLINKs (BLACKPINK fans) are disappointed at the lack of rollout for the girl group’s anniversary. However, others are hoping that the members and YG Entertainment have more planned. What are your thoughts on this?
