The entertainment industry has its dark side, and many celebrities have come forward with their own tragic experiences over the years. Some were victims of these tragedies, while others admitted that their own carelessness and foolishness played a part. Actor Tony Eusoff falls into the second category.
The Sarawak-born star was once arrested in Singapore for drug possession in 2016. He was released the same year and has previously spoken about his experience, but the conversation was brought up again due to another local celebrity making a similar mistake. Here’s the story:

In a recent group interview with the media, Tony Eusoff opened up about the time he was sentenced to eight months in Singapore’s Admiralty West Prison after police found a packet containing no less than 4.56g of the drug, which also included a mixture of cannabis. He described the experience as one of his darkest moments and how heartbroken his mother was.
“I was filled with so much remorse. My mother and I cried so much when we hugged for the last time before I went to jail. As a son, it’s heartbreaking to see your mother crying because of what you did. I learned to be better after that experience,” he said. The 47-year-old added that he only had himself to blame for what happened, saying that no one persuaded or coerced him into taking the drugs. “I was in my late 30s at the time, so I should’ve known better. It was truly my own fault for doing something so foolish,” the “Lubuk” star elaborated.

What prompted Tony Eusoff to open up about his time in prison? During a recent interview, he was asked for his opinion regarding the case of an unnamed local comedian, who was recently sentenced to six months in prison in Saudi Arabia for drug possession.
The celebrity urged the public not to judge someone immediately without learning the whole story. “They could have done it because they were desperate. We don’t know the challenges they’re facing, so it’s possible they needed something to take their mind off the stress,” he said.
