We often hear stories about customers complaining about the food or service after having a bad experience at a restaurant. Some complained about the unreasonable prices for certain dishes while others have lashed out at restaurant staff for the poor quality of service.
Speaking of service, this customer was not happy with what they experienced at a certain popular local restaurant. Here’s what they had to say:

Yesterday (Wednesday, 4th January), TikTok user @/akumemehati posted a video on their channel about their recent experience of dining in at a Pak Mat Western restaurant. “The food was 8/10 but the service was a 4/10. One more thing, they just love leaving orders incomplete,” the netizen wrote in the post’s captions, however, they did not specify which outlet it was (there are currently two outlets: Pulau Pinang and Johor). The dissatisfied customer first complained about the staff members saying how they’d sarcastically answer people’s questions.
They then continued with a story of their first time dining in. “They got my drink wrong so I decided to go over to the serving hatch myself seeing how the staff were occupied. They told me, ‘This section is for food only. We don’t make the drinks here’. How was I supposed to know that? It was my first time there. When the staff came back with the right drink, they didn’t even apologise,” the user claimed. The content creator also alleged that the staff would get angry at first-time customers for not knowing their procedure.
Apparently, @/akumemehati was not the first customer to have experienced something like this. After the TikTok post went viral, many shared their stories of dining in at the popular restaurant with some also claiming that the staff have been incredibly rude to them. Others said that the quality of the food has also deteriorated over time.
There is currently no information on whether or not the owner or management of Pak Mat Western has been made aware of people’s complaints but they ought to do something before things get out of hand. Have you dined at one of the outlets? What was your experience like?
