Being a famous K-pop idol is not an easy job. Take, for instance, 2PM’s Taecyeon (옥택연) who has gone through a lot over the years as an idol. Not only was the artist’s privacy invaded by a sasaengs while travelling overseas, but the group’s main rapper also had to apologise to fans after announcing he was dating someone back in 2020.
Being a public figure in the industry also means that rumours and allegations will spread online, regardless if they’re true or not. It looks like another juicy story has circulated on social media and here’s how the idol reacted:

YouTubers Stephanie Choo and her cousin Dan Dan are known for their Mukbang content on the former’s channel while reading confessions submitted by anonymous users. In their latest video, the content creator read out a confession by a woman who claimed to have had sex with a stranger in a toilet stall at a nightclub.
In the confession, the user mentioned that she received an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) file and discovered that the stranger she hooked up with the night before turned out to be an idol of a popular K-pop group. After the story went out, many tried to guess who the male idol was, and 2PM member Taecyeon was one of the top guesses other than members from GOT7.
What people didn’t expect was for the 34-year-old to respond to the allegations himself. During an IG live broadcast, the “Hands-Up” singer, who is known by fans to lurk on social media, said he saw questionable things online, possibly referring to the user’s confession. “I was working out and checking out the internet, and there was so much nonsense,” he said.

If that wasn’t convincing enough, the former JYP artist also tweeted a video, as seen above, with the caption that reads, “the fridge (referring to himself) goes to a dance practice, not clubs.” 2PM fans, known as Hottest, reacted to the “Vincenzo” actor’s response with many finding his approach to be humorous. Taecyeon’s tweet also apparently sparked fan wars between Hottests and BTS’s ARMYs but that’s a story for another time. Watch the full confession below:
