Malaysia has sadly lost two stars this week. It was confirmed yesterday (Tuesday, 25 November) that veteran actor Dharma Harun Al-Rashid, known for his role as Cikgu Azmi in the iconic 1980 film “Adik Manja”, has passed away at the age of 69.
On the same day, singer Amirul, from Akademi Fantasia 4, was also reported to have died following a heart attack. He was 37 years old. Here’s what we know:

Dharma Harun’s son, actor Muhammad Al Syafiq Mohamad Azman, known as Syafiq Dharma, shared the devastating news via Instagram Story that his father had passed away. “He passed away when I got back [from work] earlier at 9:10pm. The funeral rites will be handled at Abu Ubaidah Mosque, KL,” he wrote.
Syafiq also confirmed that his father was laid to rest at Raudhatul Sakinah Phase 2 Cemetery, 68100 Batu Caves, Selangor, on Tuesday morning. In July, it was reported that Dharma Harun’s health had been declining. Speaking to reporters, Syafiq revealed that he found his father unconscious when he arrived home. “His body was cold and stiff. I immediately called for an ambulance,” he said.
From one star to another, Amirul Azman Mohd Ghazali, better known as Amirul AF4, reportedly passed away after suffering a heart attack in Sarawak. The news was confirmed by the iconic singing contest’s host, Aznil Haji Nawawi, as well as his friend Diddy Hirdy.

“We haven’t seen each other since Akademi Fantasia because he was in Sarawak. Sometimes he would check in through social media. Now, he’s gone. My deepest condolences to his family,” said Aznil. At the time of writing, there is no information suggesting that his health had been declining prior to his sudden death.
We at Hype would like to extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of these two stars. May they find strength and comfort during this difficult time.
