The United States (U.S.) Embassy in Malaysia is holding a photography competition in conjunction with the success of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA’s) Artemis II mission.
Taking to their Facebook page, the U.S. Embassy introduced the ‘One Moon Many Worlds’ photography contest, where Malaysians are encouraged to submit an original photograph that explains what ‘Returning to the Moon’ means to them or how space exploration inspires their community.

The winner of the competition will receive the LEGO® Icons NASA Artemis Space Launch System worth over RM1,000!
“NASA’s Artemis II mission has successfully paved the way for humanity’s return to the moon! To celebrate this historic milestone and the future of space exploration, we’re giving you a chance to bring a piece of the mission home,”
“One winner will receive the LEGO Icons NASA Artemis Space Launch System – a tangible tribute to the rocket that makes lunar exploration possible!” they wrote.
How to enter?
The competition is open to residents of Malaysia, aged 18 and above. US citizens, Lawful Permanent Residents as well as Embassy employees and family members are excluded from competing.

If you are interested in joining the contest, you are required to share a creative original photograph to your Facebook feed with the hashtag #ArtemisIIMY and tag the U.S. Embassy Kuala Lumpur.
The photograph must explain what ‘Returning to the Moon’ means to you or how space exploration inspires your community, and your caption can be utilised to describe the inspiration behind your photo.
The contest has since started on Monday (4 May) and will end of Thursday (4 June).
“Let’s celebrate the new era of lunar discovery together!”
