From a bratty 90s brown overlined lip, referred to as chocolate brownie lips, to the chrome manicure called “glazed doughnut nails,” TikTok has a tendency to repackage current beauty trends into more approachable and mouthwatering “aesthetics.” The bronze goddess, a favourite of mid-2000s makeup counters, is the most recent fad to undergo the same treatment.
A sculpted bronze appearance is by no means new; in fact, during the 2000s, Hollywood’s top stars made this one of their go-to looks for red carpets and public engagements. It’s very easy to recreate. Latte makeup has a bronzed appearance that is similar to a latte. Depending on the tone of your skin, it uses bronze, tan, and brown tones. The final look should be glowing and energized, but you can change the colours you’re applying according on your skin tone and undertones!
The key to achieving that latte look? Applying a thick layer of bronzer before foundation will make the darker undertones visually stand out against the lighter skin. Bronzing is obviously nothing new, but what makes this unique is the application method.

Glowy Base
A skin tint or foundation with sheer coverage, concealer, a cream bronzer, and a powder bronzer are the components of the latte makeup look’s base. Rigler advises using foundation or skin tint everywhere but your nose to allow your natural freckles to show through; you can also use a freckle pen to add freckles after the base has dried to create a genuine, sun-kissed impression. Blend well after applying a generous amount of cream bronzer or contour to your cheeks and a small dab of concealer if necessary. A latte makeup base is created by adding a powder bronzer towards the end.
Shimmery Eyebrow
To recreate the look on a daily basis, smudge some brown eyeliner into your lash line and blend some powder bronzer into your crease. Use a darker brown eyeshadow in the crease, brown eyeliner that has been smudged along the water line and lash line and a touch of gold eyeshadow on the inner corner for a sexier version of the latte makeup look. Whatever method you choose to get the latte eye, applying little to no mascara will help the brown tones stand out.
Glossy Neutral Lips
The best lip colour to complete your latte look is one that is neutral. Choose your favourite brown, caramel-toned, or nude lip liner, and then add a gloss that enhances the makeup’s melted appearance. In the original version of her latte makeup tutorial, Rigler pats her lips with the leftover bronzer and foundation on her beauty blender before applying liner for an even more understated appearance.
