It is very clear that the pandemic is causing people to lose their jobs. As a result, many people have turned to delivery services such as FoodPanda. It’s undeniable that people are now reliant on the service especially during the MCO when people were not allowed to dine in at restaurants or any food outlets.

Delivery riders have become one of the celebrated frontline workers in the country. These are the individuals that helped us through these hard times in the midst of the pandemic.

But the question is, does FoodPanda actually pay their workers a healthy sum? A Facebook user will give an answer to that. Here, a user shared an earning statement as well as how much money they made, the hours spent, and orders they had to take. With over 1.5K likes and 4K shares, a lot of Malaysians were shocked by this revelation.

This person apparently shared the 2-month income dating back from 1st November 2020 until 31st December 2020. After 800 hours of hard work and a total of more than 2000 orders taken, they managed to earn over RM18K. It’s remarkable how big of a paycheque this is!

Many people however agree that it is amazing that the person’s hard work paid off, especially when that individual did not take any off days. In addition, having to work at least 12 hours a day and enduring harsh conditions such as rain is no easy feat.

The worse part is, the riders can get exposed to the coronavirus or get into accidents on the road. It’s unfortunate how many workers in delivery services met their fate in an accident.

Here is a list of screenshot comments or responses from netizens regarding their thoughts about the salary statement shared by the worker:

First up are the shocking reactions of how much money this FoodPanda rider made. Some even expressed their desire to switch occupations.

People were even congratulating the rider for his hard work and that obtaining a huge paycheque is well deserved.

Some were warning riders to take care of themselves and not to rush their work.

Having said that, some also voiced concern over leaking such confidential information online.
