Couples getting married would try to include something significant in their wedding ceremony to make it memorable – whether it’s a coffee truck or a fire truck. For this Singaporean couple, they decided to include one of their favourite brands, KFC, on their big day.
The bride, Heather Wong Liang Le, shared about the KFC wedding through a Facebook post. She wrote, “I had the KFC-themed wedding of my dreams! Really cool to have KFC Singapore as part of my special day, making it a unique and super memorable day.” According to a news outlet, the 32-year-old always wanted a KFC-themed wedding because of her love for the brand. Husband Xie Peng (transliteration) is also a KFC fan and the two even had their first date at a KFC outlet. While planning their 26th November wedding, the bride came up with the idea to contact several of her favourite brands and restaurants – including KFC.

While it was the only company to respond to Heather’s message, the fast food chain provided more than the bride expected. She revealed she had only approached the brand for a souvenir or a wedding gift but, to her surprise, the fast food chain decided to sponsor half of the ceremony, covering food, decor and even the wedding bouquet. The company provided over 160 servings of their fried chicken and whipped potato. KFC also set up a backdrop for the guests, completed with photo props and a zinger burger sofa. Even the wedding bouquet stuck to the KFC theme because it used fried chicken instead of flowers.
According to the KFC manager, the company wanted to sponsor the ceremony because of Heather’s immense support for the brand. They were also touched by the paraplegic’s inspiring story, suffering from a medical condition but still working hard on her business and even completed the Chartered Accountant Professional Diploma Course (ACCA) last year. The manager said the sponsorship is the fast food chain’s way of showing appreciation for their two loyal customers. In total, the sponsorship was worth about SGD2,300 or approximately RM8,040.

Congratulations to the newly wedded couple! We’re sure this wedding will remain a happy memory for the two for years to come.
