Fans were over the moon when it was announced earlier this week that legendary K-pop group 2NE1 (투애니원) would be performing in Malaysia next year as part of their “Welcome Back” reunion Asia tour. However, details regarding the show have yet to be released, although it has been hinted that iMe Malaysia will be the organiser of the upcoming concert.
Since the announcement, many have been speculating about the ticket prices and which venue will host the grand event. While there are several options for concert venues, fans believe the show is most likely to be held at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium rather than elsewhere. Here’s why:
A netizen who goes by @/kindfallenangel shared their thoughts on why they believe the 2NE1 concert might be held at the iconic Bukit Jalil National Stadium, rather than at the Axiata Arena. The latter has become a popular venue for both local and international concerts in recent times, alongside Zepp KL. According to the fan, given the overwhelming demand, holding the concert at the stadium, which has a capacity of 80,000, would make perfect sense.
They also claimed that Axiata Arena is already booked for another event around the same date as the idols’ concert, 1st February 2025. While the other event was not specified by the Twitter user, it was recently announced that Indonesian rock band Nidji will be performing at Axiata Arena on 2nd February for their “Nidji 2.3: The New Chapter” concert. This seems plausible, as both artists would need to share the venue for rehearsals if 2NE1 is confirmed to perform there as well. Unless they’re fine with schedules clashing and using the same stage layout, one of them would have to perform elsewhere.
If the “I DON’T CARE” singers are confirmed to perform at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium, there is a chance they could break Coldplay’s concert attendance record. The UK band made history last year when over 75,000 fans attended their show, making it the most-attended concert at the venue, according to several reports. Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza comes in second, with over 70,000 attendees back in 2004.

Apart from the Bukit Jalil National Stadium, some fans have suggested that 2NE1 might also perform at Merdeka Stadium or the National Hockey Stadium, as these venues can hold up to 20,000 and 12,000 attendees, respectively. Regardless of where the K-pop stars perform, we’re sure that they will give fans the best night of their lives.
