Fans will do anything to get their hands on concert tickets to see their favourite artist perform live. However, it is extremely rare for musicians to give a free show, particularly in public. Earlier this year, British singer-songwriter Henry Moodie treated fans to a surprise performance at The Exchange TRX. The unique event left music lovers hoping that other artists would follow suit in the future.

It seems their wish came true, as a certain Indonesian rock band gave the people of Kuala Lumpur a night to remember. Earlier this week, Nidji surprised their fans with a special performance in Bukit Bintang, getting everyone to sing their hearts out. Watch:

Imagine casually strolling around Bukit Bintang in the evening when you stumble upon a large crowd, only to discover that Nidji is putting on a show for everyone in the iconic shopping district. Malaysians were over the moon when the legendary band appeared in the area to perform a mini-concert. The six-member group played a few of their hits, including “Hapus Aku” and “Laskar Pelangi”.

If you’re wondering why Nidji decided to drop by Bukit Bintang out of the blue, the special performance actually served as a preview for their upcoming concert in KL next year. That’s right – after the fun evening, the Indonesian Music Awards winner announced they would be holding a concert at Axiata Arena in February, with tickets going on sale very soon! The details for the event are as follows:
