It’s that time of the year again! TC Candler has released the nominees for both “Most Beautiful Faces” and “Most Handsome Faces” for 2022. We’ve covered it previously, but we are back to check out this year’s nominations.
To the delight of Malaysians, some of our very own celebs have made the list! Here’s who the American film critic and his team chose from our talents this time:
1. Tabby (Dolla)
- Full name: Tabitha Ariel Lam
- Birthday: 18th March; 22 years old this year
- Kuala Lumpur born and bred!
- Debuted as a member of local dance pop group Dolla in 2019.
- Her group recently released their new single “Bad” in February 2022.
- This is the 2nd time she’s been nominated for “Most Beautiful Faces”.
2. Serene Lim (宣妤)
- Full name: Serene Lim Shyi Yee
- Birthday: 11th July; 26 years old this year
- Born in Perak before she moved to Kuala Lumpur at 18.
- Crowned winner, “Ms Photogenic” and “Ms Gorgeous” in Miss Astro Chinese International Pageant 2016.
- Was runner-up for Miss China International Pageant 2017.
- Debuted as an actress in 2018 in Hong Kong as a TVB actor before returning to Malaysia in 2020.
3. Alvin Chong (钟瑾桦)
- Full name: Alvin Chong Chean Wah
- Birthday: 23rd January; 31 years old this year
- Born in George Town, Penang, moved to Kuala Lumpur in 2009.
- Began his career as a singer in 2012 after joining “Astro Star Quest”
- Most popular singles are “Lagu Mu”, “Perfect?!”, “Don’t Ask Me Why”, “Born This Way (与生俱来), “Mencintaimu” and “We Got This”
- Starting acting in 2014 with the film “3 Brothers” and later in dramas with 2016 show “Dia Semanis Honey”
- Hosted “I Can See Your Voice Malaysia” with good friend Shuk Sahar

4. Fish Liew (廖子妤)
- Full name: Liew Zi Yu
- Birthday: 31st March; 32 years old this year
- Born in Muar, Johor, moved to Hong Kong in 2012.
- Started her career as an actress and a model in 2012 after moving to Hong Kong.
- Recently nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the 40th Hong Kong Film Awards for “Anita Mui (梅艳芳)” and “Limbo (智齿)”.
5. Min Chen (林明禎)
- Full name: Lin Min Chen
- Birthday: 1st June; 32 years old this year
- Born in Penang, debuted in Taiwan in 2015, before shifting to Hong Kong in 2016.
- Is a singer, actress and model.
- Recently starred in Hong Kong film “Table for Six (飯戲攻心)”
- This is the 2nd time she’s been nominated for “Most Beautiful Faces” after placing 89th in 2019.
