Syed Saddiq has had a pretty busy year, but thankfully for him, he has a very strong support system. Early this year, the politician was acquitted of all corruption charges and escaped a prison sentence, a multimillion-ringgit fine and caning. For the rest of the year, everything appears to be going smoothly, that is, until the government appeals against his freedom.
The case is still ongoing, but in the meantime, the public figure has been keeping busy while also taking some time to reflect on his life so far. This comes as he works on his latest project with rumoured girlfriend, singer-actress Bella Astillah.
Syed Saddiq is currently in Switzerland for an eight-day promotional photoshoot for the Kedai Cincin Ampang jewellery brand alongside Bella Astillah. He posted photos and videos of himself and the actress working as well as enduring the freezing temperature. During the trip, he took some time to reflect on recent events in his life, mentioning his ongoing court case as well as his hopes for the people of Muar.
“I trust Allah’s plans and will leave my fate in His wise hands. My integrity is not for sale. Six years and counting, and I have never once delayed the trial, never once negotiated my freedom through political masters, and never once lost faith that Malaysia is worth fighting and dying for. I am privileged to be given the opportunity to serve the good people of Muar. Despite not receiving any support for Peruntukan Kebajikan, I have fundraised millions for Muar—thanks to all of you,” he wrote in his captions.
The politician added that, after becoming an ambassador for the brand, he was able to cover his legal fees—something he had been struggling with recently. He concluded his post by asking for everyone’s prayers for himself and his rumoured partner, as the temperatures in Switzerland are freezing. Shortly after sharing his thoughts, many of his followers offered prayers for his continued well-being, while others commented on how adorable he and Bella Astillah looked together in the photos and videos he shared, urging them to get married soon.
